It’s no secret that Raja Ampat has a stunning view and always offers never-ending magical beauty. One part of Raja Ampat caught my attention on my trip. Its name is Kiti-Kiti.

Guess what I saw?

Let me describe it to you: Here, from my point of view on the boat, you can see a peak land. It’s full of forest. Green. The dew mist still hung above trees towered high, and the morning air smelled of fresh leaves. Then there was the waterfall. Its water falls directly into the sea.

After enjoying breakfast with this view, we went swimming around this waterfall. The water was cold and felt like it pierced the bones, while at the same time, the sea water was warm. What a perfect combination.

Then, the most fascinating moment happened just after we finished our afternoon snorkeling session.

The boat was ready for our next destination. And, a few minutes before we moved, a drizzle fell. It created a colorful semicircular rainbow above the waterfall.

When the ship had left for the west, an unbelievable moment happened. The rain fell again but only occurred on our right side, while our left side was dry and sunny. Then, in between, there we were sailing off into the sunset. Once the rain stopped, the sun had already set, but the remaining reddish light filled the sky and sea.

I don’t want to romanticize, but it moves my soul. I enjoyed these moments from the sundeck, without gadgets and distraction from city noises. I felt as if it was just me and nature. Peaceful and calming.

I never imagined I could have a moment like this. A moment that I thought you might only get once in your lifetime.
